Another Convo with Little Man.....and Henry:

Little Man and I were drivng Henry to the Bark Park Dog Park so he could run around and play.  LM insisted on Henry being in the back seat with him but the dog REALLY has out grown his lap so I knew it was a matter of time before I heard......

LM:  Henry stepped on my Nu Nus!  (Nu Nus means his crotch).

Me:  You don’t have Nu Nus yet.  You just have a sack.  (I know...but Daddy started it last year!!!)

LM:  Well, I have a sack and I can feel the nuts in there, so I have a sack of nuts.  (Daddy gets credit for the "nuts" term after being accidentally hit in the nuts by LM and announcing, "Dang it, you just nailed Daddy in the nuts!")

Me:  ((laughing)) Ok, Ok.....

LM:  Henry has a sack!

Me:  Nope, the vet took out his nu nus and his sack shriveled up.

LM:  Why did the vet take his nuts?

Me:  So he couldn’t make puppies.

LM:  Well...What did they look like?

Me:  I dunno.  Raisins or acorns or something...not sure.

LM:  Well, if someone cut open one of his nuts, there may be a puppy in there.

Me:  No, the mommy is the one that grows the puppy, the daddy’s have....uh, fertilizer to help the puppy grow.  (not sure about the wisdom on that one)

LM:  So, I have fertilizer but Henry doesn’t have fertilizer anymore.

Me:  Ummm, yeh......pretty much.

LM:  So when you and Daddy go on dates, he has fertilizer to help make babies grow?

Me:  ((PANIC ATTACK!!!))  Ummmmmm.  Hey!  Look at that giant water tower!

LM:  Ooooooh!

So glad he's easily distracted!

Needless to say, the Husband was like, "Fertilizer?!"  And I was like, "You told him he had a sack but no nuts!"

...heavy sigh.............

#3 is out!

We tried to "shoot it out" with the nerf dart gun like the last 2 but it was one stubborn tooth!  It has been loose for quite a while but just didn't want to come out.  LM kept fiddling with it while watching t.v. and he suddenly grabbed my arm and said "thook"!  He was holding a bloody tooth. EW!  So off to the bathroom we went to clean and prep the tooth for the Tooth Fairy. :)

Convo with Little Man:

Little Man and I were eating dinner together last week (The Hubs was working late) and discussing our new home and meeting the neighbors.

LM:  I can't wait for it to warm up so I can go next door and play in their backyard.

Me:  They have a pool too you know.  And a hot tub. (he doesn't get that a spa and hot tub are the same thing yet).

LM:  You know, we could get a little hot tub, like Henry's size (Henry is our dog) and we could invite some chicas over to hang out but then he'd be like, Eeny, meeny, miny, mo, cause he'd have to pick one.  Like Colby! (friend of ours - single, no kids...apparently a real ladies man?)

As he sits there grinning like a fool, I'm sitting there in stunned
UP TO HERE!
silence with my eyebrows

What The What?!?!

He just turned 6!  I'm afraid of what we'll come home to when hes a teenager!  :D

Better pay closer attention to what he's watching on t.v.   ((sigh))

Happy Happy Birthday!

Every year for Little Man's Birthday, I like to post the pictures of him in his Birthday Boy Hat from past years.  So cute!

One Year!

Must have missed taking a picture of "the hat" at his
second Birthday.

3rd Birthday!

4th Birthday!

5th Birthday!

Our big (and goofy) 6 year old!

The group pic at the party
(sorry about the blur!)

We had dinner with family on Saturday (his actual Birthday) and a party with classmates at Pump It Up on Sunday.  6 years old!  It really didn't hit me until this morning when he ran into our room to wake us up.  Time is going by fast!

So happy that our big boy still likes to crawl under the covers with us to snuggle before starting the day. :)

Next Up:  Henry the Dog turns 1!

Party Planning Frustration

So Little Man initially wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (TMNT) themed party...BUT...I couldn't find party supplies ANYWHERE!  So he settled for Lego Ninjago.  So I agreed thinking surely I could pull that together.  There are tons of Lego stuff out there.

WELL!

The day after I sent out a homemade Lego Ninjago invitation to his classmates, Target & Wal-Mart both had tons of Mutant Ninja Turtle party supplies!  Grrr!  You know where I found Lego Ninjago party supplies? Nowhere.  Yep.  Figures.  I googled pictures of Lego Ninjago Parties and found that the "Martha Stewart Super Moms" of the world made all their party supplies themselves.

AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!

So what did I do?  I bought Mutant Ninja Turtle Party supplies.  Yeh, I switched up the theme between the initial invite and the actual party.  I'm a rebel.  :D

Teenage+Mutant+Ninja+Turtles+Party+Supplies

I think Little Man will be totally cool with it since I found a TMNT T-shirt for the Hubs and one for LM to wear to the party! How festive is that!  Yay!

Birthdays!

Yesterday was my Dad's birthday!  Happy Birthday Dad!  Little Man made a Jib Jab video for him that was hysterical. :D

Dad's Birthday Video from Little Man

Little Man's birthday is this Saturday and he is so excited to celebrate it with all his new school friends! We're doing the usual Pump It Up Party with a Lego Ninjago theme.  Can't believe he is going to be 6 years old!  Sniff Sniff...Where has the time gone?!?!?!

I'll be posting pics and misc this week to celebrate our Little Man.

WAY overdue for a post!

The last thing I posted was the pics taken for our Christmas card!  Crazy!  Since then we celebrated Christmas and the Hubs 40th Birthday...and then moved out of state! :D

The Hubs was offered such a great opportunity in Texas that he couldn't pass it up.  We moved to an area north of Dallas and the community reminds us a lot of our hometown.

We're staying busy working the house we bought.  Thats right!  We bought! :)  Cute house, lots of potential = lots of projects.

New House!

Little Man loves his new school (still misses his friends from school in OK though), is taking karate and having a great time with the monthly Lego Club build at the mall.  School night at the hockey game was pretty cool too!

Henry the dog is enjoying the new yard, digging holes, killing lizards by day and barking at anything that moves around in the backyard at night (armadillo? opossum?  raccoon?).  He was sleeping in the sunroom which has a big back window that looks out over the backyard and pool but since we've moved him to the laundry room, we're all sleeping better at night. :)

Henry the lizard killer

Today Little Man is home sick from school.  There is a stomach virus going around.  Bleh!  Henry has been watching over him but I finally convinced LM to go back to his room and lie down.  He finally fell asleep. Poor little guy. :(

LM on the couch with his face in the trash can and Henry watching over him.

Promise to keep the posts updated from this point on.

Photo shoot

Every year we have pictures taken to use on our Christmas card.

This year we had a new addition to the family, Henry, so we thought we should include him in the picture.  Well, getting a puppy and a 5 yr old to focus and sit still long enough to get a good shot is pretty tricky. :)  After a second visit to the park and 45 minutes into it, we finally got the winning shot.  Below is the photo we used as well a couple I just love to look at.

wanted to keep it fun and casual

maybe we should have used this one?

Little Man decided to pose like this...GQ scouts closeby? :D

The Hubs and I thought the elf ears and hat were hysterical!
The kid...not so much.

How cool is this?!

Took LM to see Rise of the Guardians,
awesome movie!

I didn't get any pictures from Thanksgiving...too busy eating, visiting and holding baby "J"!  :)

First Lost Tooth!

Little Man's lower front tooth has been loose for quite a while but he wouldn't let me pull it.  He had seen a picture of the son of a friend of mine on Facebook who did the string and door knob routine and left the kid crying and bleeding. Uh.....not doing that.

But after encouraging him to come up with a way to do it...he came up with a great idea and agreed to have it pulled.

LM said, "we can tie some string to my tooth and the other end to a Nerf dart and shoot it and the dart will pull my tooth out!"  I thought this was pretty brilliant.  Enjoy the video!

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a Happy & Safe Halloween!

Last year we went to Boo Ha Ha, which is a daytime event in our city the weekend before the 31st, where the kids can trick or treat, play games to win candy and jump around in a bouncy castle.  We had so much fun last year that we did it again this year.

This years costume theme was Batman - The Dark Knight.  Little Man was Batman of course, I was Catwoman (circa Anne Hathaway) and the Hubs was Scarecrow aka Dr. Jonathan Crane.

Catwoman, Scarecrow-minus the mask and Batman

Our dog Henry was supposed to be The Joker but he was not having any part of his costume and FREAKED when we tried to spray the top of his head green.

The one picture of Henry in his Joker costume before he tried to take it off himself.

I was pretty disappointed last year with the lack of participation by our neighborhood in handing out candy.  We live in the neighborhood where I grew up and I remember everyone handing out candy and one family ALWAYS had a haunted house set up in their home...it was the best!  I was determined that LM have a better experience this year, so last night I drove over to another part of town (thanks for the tip "M"!) where all the houses decorated and the homeowners dressed up and it was great!  They obviously had a reputation for doing it up right because there were TONS of people driving in and parking just to trick or treat in this neighborhood.

One house had cut outs on the front lawn so you could take your kid's picture.
LM said its a picture of him being eaten by a trick or treating monster.  :D

We came across a house that went all out!  Inflatable gargoyles on the roof, tiki torches along the front of the house, a fog machine, scary music with screams & lightning mixed in, tons of spiders and webs, skulls, skeletons in cages, yellow caution tape, pumpkins...the whole nine yards!  And it was AWESOME!!!  Told LM, "this is what our neighborhood was like when I was your age".

Wish I could have taken a better pic!  So Cool!!!

This is what I want to do with our house next year!  Hope the Hubs is up for it!  :D

LM said, "this is the best Halloween ever!  I'm rich!" (meaning he hit the jackpot in candy)  :D  Loved seeing him having so much fun.

Now its time to gear up for Thanksgiving!
