Spring has Sprung!

Here in North Dallas, Spring has Sprung!  Well…its in the 80's this week which is more like summer but a cool front is coming through tonight to get things back to "normal".

Henry was ready for his "summer cut" after the warm weekend.  Here he is modeling his Easter bandanna!  So handsome!

This is a dog who refused to wear the OU jersey we bought him as a puppy! (No jokes from my OSU and Texas friends!)

I tried to take the bandanna off of him last night at bedtime and he snatched it back!  Ha!

Our backyard has a few blooms and the lizards are out running around.  The bunnies are collecting fresh grass for their boroughs too….glad they are behind the pool fence where Henry can't get to them.

Gerber Daisy

My Mom thinks this might be a flowering quince?
Flowering Almond bush???  I have no clue.
Let me know if you know what it is!

Vinca

Peonies!
Should be blooming by Mother's Day!

So glad its finally warming up and I can pull out the flip flops!  Need to get my butt to the salon for a much needed pedi!  Eek!  :D

School Open House

Little Man's school had their open house last week and we were able to see his projects that included a PowerPoint presentation about some of the deserts in the world and a pottery project in art class.

The class drew themselves and the figures were sitting at their desks when we came in.
I guess LM was wearing his Harp Design Co t-shirt from our Waco trip when they made them.  :D

The kids had to write a report about a famous person, dress up as that person and read their report in front of the class.

LMs was Harry Houdini!

I think he looks like a insane asylum escapee!  Ha!

Spring Break 2015

We have a family vacation coming up this summer so we had a "stay-cation" for Spring Break.  Sleeping in, working on the house, relaxing at home, eating out and a road trip!

Little Man thought the Chef at Benihana was so cool with his "tricks".
Rootbeer and pizza at the Pub.

I don't know about anyone else but we love to watch HGTV.  Rehab Addict, Property Brothers and Fixer Upper are our favorites.  We were happy to learn that Fixer Upper is based out of Waco, TX…just down the road from us!  So we made the trip to visit their store, the woodworking shop of their friend Clint Harp of Harp Design Co and shop some antique stores in the area.

First visit was to Common Grounds coffee shop on the edge of the Baylor University campus.  The couple that own it were featured on the Fixer Upper show and we're always up for trying new coffee shops!

"Magnolia" is Joanna's shop for home decor.  Smaller shop than we expected but cute stuff!
Harp Design Co (shop is out of frame to the left).  See that house in the background?  That is the Harp family's house that the Gaines' did for them…I think one of the first episodes that aired.  So cool!

We also shopped at two antique stores…one named Junque in the Trunk!  Ha!  Finally found a piece to hang on our fireplace wall that has been blank for 2 years!  I could walk around those places for hours = heaven.

Funny Randomness…we were wandering around Whole Foods after eating breakfast one morning and stumbled upon this product..brilliant marketing if you ask me!  I'm still giggling about it!  :D

If you can't read the label, its called "Healthy Hoo Hoo - Feminine Wash".
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!  Love it!

Stuffs

The weather here in TX has been crazy!
Not the ice storm / no electricity craziness of last year but 3 snow days of no school kind of crazy this year.

Snow accumulation in our backyard.

LM was loving it!  :)

We had a weekend off from basketball and the weather has been improving...so we hit Home Depot for their kids build.  Little Man's new friend, "Ro" and his mom met up with us for building and coffee for the moms after.  ;)

Check out our bookends!

Taking a "selfie". :)

One of LMs favorite places to eat is Freebirds.  Can anyone tell me how in the world a kid and gets sauce on the bridge of their nose while eating a burrito?!  LOL

All sauced up…wait, that sounded weird! Ha!
Covered in sauce!

Basketball Playoffs!

The Panthers made it to the playoffs!  Although we didn't win our playoff game,   :(  we're going back out this afternoon to support the other PC Team "The Dirks" who won their playoff game right before ours.  So proud of all the boys and looking forward to watching their friends play this afternoon.

LM front and center!

UPDATE!!  The Dirks won their game (against the team that beat us-boo yah!) and now they play tonight, Sunday at 7pm.  We won't be there to watch but are hoping they win the final game!  Good luck Dirks!

Here is some video from the game we saw…you can hear us yelling about the clock because the opposing team was in charge of starting and stopping it (which made NO SENSE to me) and would "forget" to stop the clock until it came down to the Dirks being ahead by 1 point…then they "forgot" to start the clock. Hmmmmm.  They still kicked their butts anyway. ;)

Action!

The last 15 seconds!
