It's Party Time!

Today was Little Man's Birthday Party at Pump It Up! Imagine 30 kids bouncing around and sliding down a giant inflatable slide...great fun!

Little Man had so much fun with all his friends...so happy that they all could join him in celebrating his 4th Birthday.

Happy Birthday Jedi Jaden!

Slam Dunk with an assist from Daddy

Time for Pizza!

Star Wars Birthday Cupcake Cake!
I think he was getting tired and starting to zone out. :D

Still had enough energy to play after the party...
couldn't say the same for Daddy! :D

I forgot to take "The Silly Birthday Hat" to the party but he was a good sport about me getting a picture of him wearing it once we got home.

Friends and Family singing "Happy Birthday"

Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us!
It was fun!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MAN!!!

Four years ago today we celebrated the birth of "Little Man". Crazy how fast time flies.

Seems like it was just yesterday that we were still at the hospital, figuring out how to change a newborn diaper, then loading him in the car for the 25 mph ride home and finally standing next to his crib, watching him sleep and thinking how blessed we were.

Little Man - Born on Good Friday, 2007

Little Man - 1 year old

Little Man - 2 years old

Little Man - 3 years old

We were excited to take him out to dinner Monday night to celebrate and of course he chose "the rice place with the big horses" (PF Changs), one of his favorite restaurants. Since his Grandma M, Grandma & Grandpa A sent his Birthday money early (Thank You!), we went ahead and gave him his present to play with on the drive over. A Nintendo DS game system! He was so excited! Now he could play cool "big kid" games like his cousins!

Playing Diego's Dinosaur game &
wearing the "Cool Kid" button from Grandma M.

Score! Free Birthday Dessert!
Decisions, decisions, decisions!
Finally went with the raspberry cheesecake...Mmmmm!

Last night I stayed up late making a Birthday shirt for him to wear to school. Unfortunately, he woke up with a cough & runny nose and had to stay home...so he put it on long enough for pictures. But his birthday wasn't a total loss, he spent the day building with his Trio Blocks, watching videos, playing video games and being waited on hand and foot by Mamma. Oh, wait, that's pretty much any day he's not in school. :D

Hopefully he'll be feeling better for his party on Saturday.

His rocket Birthday shirt says, "I'm Four!"

Our "Little Man" is quickly growing up to be a big boy.
Happy Birthday!
We love you! (((THIS MUCH!!!)))

Plants vs. Zombies Game Trailer

Gamer.....

So I had to go to the Verizon Wireless store yesterday because my phone died...AGAIN! This is my 3rd phone in 6 months. Don't ever get a LG Touch screen phone. It's great, when it's working, but just spend the extra money and get an iPhone. You get so much more for your money...including a phone that works...like ALL THE TIME. :D And you get all the fabulous Applications (aka-Apps)! Which brings me to the point of my post.

Apps/Games

Every time I go to the "phone store", as Little Man calls it, he's with me. So the sales guy always finds him a game to play while I get the phone situation...situated. This is how we became acquainted with "Plants vs. Zombies". The kid LOVED (notice I typed LOVED) this game, had to play it, didn't want to leave the store, had to find it online to download to our desktop when we got home and became addicted to it. UNTIL we beat the highest level and ZOMBOSS, the giant robot zombie controlled by a goofy looking scientist zombie guy with a giant head. Now Little Man is like, "Meh, I'll just play something on NickJr.com".

Well, yesterday, the sales guy put him on an iPad with the game "Angry Birds". I've heard of this game, heard it's addictive but I.HAD.NO.IDEA. When it was time to go, I ended up "helping" Little Man play...who am I kidding, I took over the iPad and played for 10 minutes. Little Man didn't mind. In the 10 minutes it took for me to get my phone situation situated, he mastered the game! So he was showing me how to play! Crazy how fast a 3yr old can pick up this stuff.

I made the mistake of mentioning to the sales guy that we were thinking of replacing Little Man's jumbo DVD player with an iPod Touch. He said they dropped the price of the iPad, so it's only $50 more than the iPod Touch and you get a much bigger screen! Thanks...thanks a lot man. Now our 4 yr old thinks he's getting this $299 iPad with the "Angry Birds" game.

Anywho, tried to leave the store, Little Man had a meltdown, finally got in the car, he demanded that we find the game on the computer when we got home, I put him in his room for quiet time and THEN checked the online Apple Store for the game...thank goodness I couldn't find a desktop compatible download. Can you imagine the HOURS wasted playing this game at home!!!

This morning on the way to school, I hear from the backseat:

Little Man: "I know what we can do after school today! Go to the phone store and play the chicken game!" (big smile on his face...he actually believed I'd take him)

Me: "Um, No".

Little Man: "I like that chicken game..." (defeated and gazing out the window).

I think we have a little "gamer" on our hands. :D

(check out the videos on this blog if you're not familiar with Plants vs. Zombies or Angry Birds. But it's not my fault if you become addicted to playing.) :D

Another Interesting Conversation with Little Man...

We were on our way home from a Birthday party of one of Little Man's friends and I commented to Little Man that I was looking forward to celebrating his Birthday (2 1/2 weeks away).

Little Man: Why?

Me: Because the day you were born was the happiest day of Mommy's life and I love to celebrate it. Well, that and the day I married your Daddy.

Little Man: Why did you marry Daddy?

Me: Because I love him very much and I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

Little Man: I'm going to knock down the hotel so you can't marry Daddy.

Me: Well, who am I supposed to marry? (I had an idea of where this was going).

Little Man: Me! You marry me then I can be big.

Me: You have all the time in the world to be big...take your time.

Little Man: How did Daddy get big?

Me: He ate all his fruits and vegetables and everything that his Mommy put in front of him. (I know...but it doesn't hurt to try) then he grew up big and strong.

Little Man: Yeh...he's big like Hulk!

So this is the breakdown...
1. Everyone gets married in hotels.
2. Getting married means you're big (grown up).
3. Little Man has a little bit of a Oedipus complex going on....totally normal for this age.
4. I'm married to The Hulk.

Never a dull moment and I always learn so much! :D

According to Little Man...

We always enjoy pointing out dogs to Little Man when driving along on the car...he loves dogs. Today we stopped by a dog park to watch them play for a little while.

When we asked Little Man what kind of dog he wanted, he said, "A Marmaduke dog...because he poots!"

So happy that film makers continually put farts in kids movies...because they will never stop being funny! (sarcasm)

(see clip below)

Marmaduke. Wait For It..wmv

Our future pet? I.don't.think.so. :D
