Happy Birthday M.O.T.H.! xoxo

Dec. 26th was The Husband's (aka-Master Of The House/M.O.T.H.) 39th Birthday! Yeah!

I swear I thought he was turning 40 but he was quick to remind me that he has another year. :D We met up for Mi Cocina (YUM!) and cake with family and friends and then it was off to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. (AWESOME!)

Chocolate cake with mexican food and margaritas...Mmmmm! :D

Happy Birthday ! We Love You!

A Merry Christmas was had by all!

Lots of prep was needed Christmas Eve night! Fireplace slightly open to make sure Santa can get in the house - Check!, Set out cookies and milk for Santa - Check! and position the camera to catch Santa in the act of leaving presents. CHECK!

Little Man has had a rough past couple of months... thinking that he wasn't going to make the nice list. Even the day before Christmas he commented, "I don't have enough time to listen!" Meaning, he's run out of time to make the nice list by listening to his parents. :D

First thing Christmas morning, he walks into the living room to see if there are any presents for him and yells, "I can't believe I'm not on the naughty list!"

Note to Santa: Thanks for making an exception! :D hee hee

Leaving Mint Milanos and milk for Santa!

Caught in the act!

Legos!

And the mother load of Legos! Thanks Grandma M!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Program

**You'll have to scroll down and pause the blog music to hear the video. Thx!

Friday, The Husb and I along with Grandma M and Grandma & Grandpa A attended Little Man's Christmas program at his school.

They sang, "Hanukkah, Hanukkah", "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer", "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas", "Santa's Reindeer", "Milton the Dancing Christmas Mouse", and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".

LM didn't actually sing but he had the hand movements down. Stage fright I guess.
I'm sure if they were doing something by Justin Beiber or Big Time Rush he would have been all over it!

His classmate, Miss M, was a pro! She'll be on Broadway someday. :D

Merry Christmas!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cousin "J"!!!

Today we celebrated cousin "J's" 2nd Birthday!!!

He blew out the candle!

Mmmmm! Cake!

Presents!

Of course a Star Wars card from LM.

And a gift from LM, the TX cousins and Uncle "J"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "J"! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Seussical the Musical!

Yesterday we took Little Man to see the local production of "Seussical the Musical".

Narrated by Cat and the Hat (who was so completely great!) and included characters: JoJo (little Boy), Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz (bird), Mayzie La Bird, Sour Kangaroo, General Gengus Khan Schmitz (great voice!), Mr. Mayor & Mrs. Mayor of Whoville (JoJo's parents), The Grinch, the 2 Wickersham Brothers, 3 Bird girls (back up singer type roles), Yertle the Turtle, Elephant Bird Baby and don't forget, Thing One & Thing Two (fun to watch!).

LM really enjoyed the show! I think he liked seeing little kids performing on stage...even some younger than himself.

After the show we were able to get autographs on a poster of the cast and took some pictures too!

When we were leaving, LM said, "I'm going to be the Elephant Bird Baby because I'm little like him". :)

Found out that Thing One is a fourth grader at LM's school! Cool!

Elfie!

This is what Little Man thinks of Elf on the Shelf.

Walked into the living room to find him with the captured "Elfie", and he was growling and laughing.

I said, "You're REALLY not going to get anything for Christmas now!".

His reply, "I'm already on the naughty list."

Hmmmmm.

Celebrating St. Nicholas Day!

Little Man with cousin J and Grandma M
visiting with Saint Nicholas.

"Nicholas lived a long time ago, during the 4th century. He grew up to be the bishop in a city named Myra. He used all his money to help children in need and people who were sick or poor. He helped secretly, so no one would know who had done the good deeds. We remember him because he loved God and was good and kind."

Okie Thanksgiving 2011

In the past we've had a TX Thanksgiving. But this year, the Family descended upon Oklahoma. :D We had family from California, Missouri and Texas come in for the holiday and it was great! There were gift exchanges, eating, meet ups, eating, outing to the movies with the kids, eating, watching football on the t.v., eating, shopping trips, the run and yes...more eating.
And... oops! I'll have to finish this post later!

(6 hours later) Hey! Sorry about that! Realized that I was supposed to be at my eye appointment and had to bolt! :D

It was great seeing all the family! Many who we only see once a year! :(

Christmas gift exchange with the out of town cousins.

The Kids!
Little Man loved seeing all of his cousins!
Although little "J" wasn't so keen on taking a group photo.

Football!

And more football!

Miss C and her Daddy

P, myself and J participated in the Turkey Trot
the day after Thanksgiving.
Had to run off all those calories!
We think this should be a yearly tradition from now on.

The Men of the Family

And the Ladies!

I included this one because I love it!
Grandma M took it on LM's first day of Pre-K back in August.

Lab pics.....Ewwww!

We've been doing dissections in Lab and I have to say, I'm just slightly less grossed out than I was in High School. Once you get the thing cut open, it's kinda cool. It's cutting into it that is SO NASTY!

Cow Eyeball, and yes, they do squirt.
That is probably the only thing from dissecting one
in High School that I remember.

Fetal Pig
They were bigger than we expected but surprisingly easy to dissect.
Ours was a girl and we had to identify the major organs
as well as the reproductive organs.

I don't think I'll ever eat pork again.
