Sexy?

Everyone has a different opinion of what makes someone "sexy". It can be their look, their profession, their personality, their accent...

For some ladies....it's firemen! hmmm. nah.

One of the bloggers I follow has a thing for Daniel Craig. Says a picture of him can make her giggle uncontrollably. hmmm, I don't know about THAT. Piercing blue eyes...nice. And he IS 007!

Speaking of which...my mom always thought Sean Connery was sexy. The original 007! So smooth!

And of course, the guy voted Sexiest Man Alive at least twice, George Clooney. eh...he's o.k. Really cute dog though!

I used to have a thing for accents...but then I had Little Man and was forced to watch The Wiggles! 4 grown Aussie men in colorful outfits acting silly and singing songs. Kinda killed the Aussie accent thing for me. Anthony (blue Wiggle) was the only cute one anyway.

This is what I see as sexy. The Husband! After a long day at work, he comes home and lets Little Man jump on him yelling, "giddy up horsey! go! go!" and they gallop around the house. I love seeing them together.

Funny how things change as you get older, get married, have kids and really start to appreciate the little things in life and realize just how much those little things REALLY mean.

Love you my sexy Husband!

ps - ladies, you're welcome for the fireman photo! :)

{{{Heavy Sigh}}}

This is Little Man's "I'm mad" pose.

The potty training experts say that most kids are ready for potty training by 2 years of age. What they don't take into account is the "Terrible Twos"!

We've tried the SuperHero big boy underpants, stickers, a potty train poster, M&M's and the musical potty (picture of Little Man's throne below) but nothing is working. The other day Little Man said he wanted to wear big boy underwear like Daddy. So, we put on some Spider-Man undies with the hope of potty training success and wound up with 5 pairs of urine soaked underwear before lunch. {{{sigh}}}
Trying to convince a stubborn two year old in the middle of The Terribles that he needs to learn to use the potty is like trying to convince the Tasmanian Devil to take up Yoga and become a vegetarian!

The twos really didn't hit until two and a half....but then WOW! When he's in a mood, look out! It's not all tantrums...he gets stubborn too. When he wants something, he won't take no for an answer and is VERY persistent. Gotta give him credit there.

We've decided that Spring Break is going to be Potty Training Marathon Week. I got some great advice from a friend who got her advice from someone who potty trained 3 boys...so hopefully it will work. Little Man has never been a "by the book" kind of kid so we may have to tweak our methods a little bit to fit him. Will keep you posted! :)

Finally! Some sunshine!

Sunday the weather was SO nice that we decided to take Little Man to the park to fly his Spider-Man kite. We've had the kite for at least 2 weeks, waiting for some nice weather so you can image how excited Little Man was when we got there. "Hurry! Let's fly! Let's fly!" But true to form, 5 minutes after getting it airborne, Little Man announced "I'm done" and wandered off to find something new to do. :)

Ah, well! At least we got out of the house and spent some time together!

Daddy and Little Man putting the kite together.
Check out his cool Transformer shades!

It's up!

See ya later! I'm off to play flag football with the big guys!

My funny Valentine!

Little Man had his first date! sort of. His school was having a silent auction (aka fundraiser) and classroom Valentine Party friday night and I offered to take one of his friends/classmates. This is the same friend who shot him down when he invited her over for a bubble bath. hee hee

It was SO CUTE! I took their picture together before we left her house, then they "read" to each other on the ride over to the school. At the party they sat together eating their ice cream with pink sprinkles and played together before sitting down to sing a song with the rest of the class for the parents.

After the party, we (including The Husband) met her parents and older brother for dinner. On the way to the restaurant they played, "Let Me Throw My Sippy Cup at You and See if You Can Dodge It!" I think she was winning. They were laughing the whole time so I'm assuming there were no injuries.

After sushi (YUM!) we said our good-byes and headed to the car. After I loaded him in, Little Man about lost his mind (crying and yelling) because he felt like he didn't get to say a proper good-bye to his friend...so I pulled up to their car, they got her out and held her up to Little Man's window so he could say good-bye...even wanted to hold her hand for a second before we pulled away. (sniff sniff....how romantic!) =D

I know they're only 2 and we're not making it more than it is.....two kids who really enjoy each others company...but YEARS down the road, if he can find a girl like this who is girly but who can also hang with the boys....I'd be a happy mother in law. :)

Cool shirt!

Ice Cream! But not a lot of conversation. :)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

Catching up with Little Man

A Little Man fix for those of you missing him...

Helping me pick out new recipes to try.

Watching his cousins play flag football.
He REALLY wants to play too.

2009 - School Picture
Our handsome Little Man!

My type(face)?....

I was perusing other blogs....looking for inspiration for a blog topic and this one caught my eye.

This may sound like a boring subject but I've always liked browsing through different fonts...looking for something that really represented my personality.

Today I came across a website that asks four questions regarding your personality and then determines your typeface type. Hmmmm. Mine is Archer Hairline. I think it's pretty neat looking but a little conservative for me...but what do I know! Ask anyone who knows me and I'm sure they'll say I'm SUPER conservative.

What is your type? http://www.pentagram.com/what-type-are-you/

Archer Hairline: Emotional, Understated, Progressive & Disciplined

Modern typeface with a straightforward appearance but one that has tiny outbreaks of elegance and tiny dots of emotion only apparent from closer examination. If you are someone who is outwardly composed but will occasionally run into the bathroom for a quick laugh (???) or a quiet cry before emerging to the world outwardly composed again, then Archer Hairline is your type.

So I'm elegant and emotional on occasion? O.k. But laughing in the bathroom?! I mean...who does that?! I enjoy sharing a good laugh with everyone and have been known to let out a snort in the middle of it. (much to The Husband's embarrassment).

So, you pretty much take the info with a grain of salt.

Our Bubble has burst!

1 fire truck, about 10 police cars and 2 helicopters

Our community used to be called "The Bubble". No crime to speak of other than a raccoon ransacking someone's garbage cans or the rare house fire. That's one of the reasons we moved here. Felt like a safe place to raise Little Man.

I remember when we first moved here that anytime we heard a siren, it was weird, certainly not something we heard very often. I used to wonder what the police did all day.....write speeding tickets I assumed. Our Mall even has valet parking, police on horseback and a cute little trolley.

Well our bubble has been taking hits since last year. Multiple bank robberies last year and SEVERAL muggings this year and today.....a woman was shot in the parking lot at the mall, an attempted car-jacking.

I was headed to the mall after the gym and was passed by a fire truck and 2 police cars. I pulled in, wondering what was going on, and suddenly the mall parking lot was filled with police cars and then 2 helicopters showed up! I started to get a sick feeling in my stomach. There had been several robberies and assaults in the last few months. Had a sinking feeling that it was going to get worse before it got better.

I got more details from a friend who had called to check on me because she knew I was going to be up at the mall. A woman was shot during an attempted car-jacking. Not sure if they had caught the guy. We were both a little shaken and wanted to get home quick!

I've told The Husband that I wanted to get a stun gun and a neighbor mentioned getting mace. But if some psycho low-life wants your car and has a gun? A stun gun or mace really won't make a difference. I'll give him the car! I just hope that if something this terrible ever happens that Little Man isn't with me.

Texans are big on being able to protect themselves, families and their homes. Don't know if I'd pack a gun....with Little Man being so curious and everything, but I feel like there has got to be some way to protect myself and Little Man while we're out running errands.

Just an unsettling kind of day.

Stay safe everyone!

You DID NOT just do that!!!

Today after church, The Husband and I took Little Man out for lunch at one of our usual spots. We sat in our booth, being entertained by the boy, waiting for our pager to go off when I decided to let him hold the pager. WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?! Little Man raised the pager to his face and proceeded to lick it! (((((queasy feeling in the pit of the stomach))) I thought The Husband was going to flip out! He looked at me with his hand out....for something....and I said, "We can't squirt hand sanitizer in his mouth!" The Husband urged him to drink lots of water....like that was going to help! =D
So we just sat there with helpless expressions on our faces.....like we were waiting for Little Man to suddenly become violently ill, like he had been poisoned or something and there was nothing we could do about it. We're not huge germaphobes but to me that's just "you have lost your mind" kind of gross!
Think I'll Google "Oral Sanitizers for kids". Never know what the kid is going to stick in his mouth and we need to be prepared!

*** FYI - the only thing that comes up on Google is Toothbrushes and Toothbrush Sanitizers. Guess we'll just have to pack an extra toothbrush in his backpack from now on. (((shaking head)))
The Germ

A mighty creature is the germ,
Though smaller than the pachyderm.
His customary dwelling place
Is deep within the human race.
His childish pride he often pleases
By giving people strange diseases.
Do you, my poppet, feel infirm?
You probably contain a germ.

S.A.D or just Blah.......

I've been feeling a little "blah" this week. Not sure if I'm just tired of all the cold weather or what so I decided to look up Season Affective Disorder online and this is what I found.

Symptoms of SAD may consist of: difficulty waking up in the morning, tendency to oversleep as well as to overeat, and especially a craving for carbohydrates, which leads to weight gain. Other symptoms include a lack of energy, difficulty concentrating on completing tasks, and withdrawal from friends, family, and social activities. All of this leads to the depression, pessimism, and lack of pleasure which characterize a person suffering from this disorder.

Difficulty waking up in the morning?...(((Yawn))) CHECK!

Tendency to oversleep?...not with a toddler that wakes up at 6 a.m.

Overeating?...depends on the day

Craves carbohydrates?...depends on the week (ladies you know what I'm sayin').

Lack of energy?...kinda, but working out 6 days a week can wear you out!

Difficulty concentrating on completing tasks?...uh, yeah, I think the stuff in the washing machine has been in there a couple of days so I better wash it again. (((cringe)))

Withdrawal from friends?...maybe, in loner mode this week I guess.

I'm not depressed, can be pessimistic at times but as far as a lack of pleasure in things...not quite there yet. Guess I just have the "blahs". But when I looked up the blahs, it suggested that I was depressed! I think it's normal to have an "off day" although mine seems to be an "off week".

I'm going to go with the treatment for SAD, one of which is sunlight. And because we're having a gray day here in TX, I've had to improvise!

So if your feeling a little "blah" too, put on your sunglasses, kick back in your flip flops, have a fruity girlie drink handy and soak up a little sunshine with me. =D

Ahhhh....where's my cabana boy? I need a refill! :)

Crash and Burn!

Yes....the New Years Resolution List has been a bust!

I'm still going to Starbucks (only drinking Decaf though!), I haven't read my phone or camera manuals and I missed sending a Birthday card the first week of January!
However!
I have been exercising on a regular basis (Body Pump class is AWESOME!), I've been cooking dinner for the family and we're still planning on taking a family trip this summer. I've been reading the paper almost everyday too!

(pat, pat, pat <-----patting self on back).

How is your To Do list going? :)
