Out and About

Friday Jaden and I went to the park to play.  He really enjoys the swings now!  Before, he would have this petrified look on his face and want out.  Now he laughs, tries to grab me when he swings near and throws his arms in the air in excitement.  Saturday our neighborhood park had a "Touch a Truck" Day.  Firetrucks, Construction equipment, etc, parked and open for the kids to climb around on them.  Pretty cool!

Wee!

Had to try out the lounge chair swing....ahhhh

Jaden starts Mother's Day Out (MDO) next Tuesday.  We attended the Cookie Social on Tuesday and met his teachers, Ms. Amy and Ms. Amanda.  When we walked in I saw his cubbie already labeled with his name - made me little teary eyed.  Jaden marched right in, waved hello and proceeded to play with everything in sight.  My little man is growing up.

Busy Weekend!

Saturday we went to Lowe's to pick up a runner we ordered and we were happy to see that they had "race car" carts for customers shopping with kids.  Jaden loved it!  John and Jaden took off while I was doing the paperwork but I found them doing donuts in Lawn and Garden!  Too funny!  I'm sure the employees thought I was one of those "crazy picture taking moms" when I whipped out the camera.  Who cares!  I get some of my best pictures on spur of the moment.  And I think Jaden will laugh when he looks through them when he is older.

Laughing because we just did a donut

Decided that pushing was more fun

I had trimmed Jaden's bangs on Friday and John wasn't crazy about the look Jaden had going on so we finally decided to get his haircut.  I didn't want to lose the curls so the stylist (weird, my 16 month old has a stylist) kept it a little long.  Lost the curls but we still have some wave.  Cartoon Cuts is a wonderful place!  They have the place painted in bright colors, lots of toys and videos for the kids to watch while they get their hair done.  Since it was our first time, we received a First Haircut Certificate and Jaden's curls in a little zip-lock.

Still not so sure about the experience

Happy to be home - Hair looks great!

Big Boy Chair

We finally bought Jaden a "Big Boy" chair.  It's from a company called Land of Nod (love it!) that carries TONS of stuff for babies and kids.  We heard about the company from our friends David & Stacey (thanks again for the CD's!) when they sent Jaden some CD's for his 1st birthday.  Coldplay songs remixed for lullabies and a multi-artist CD that's too funny.  Jaden will actually point at the radio in the car and clap his hands, wanting us to play his CD.  Check out the company for your kids!  They also have Rolling Stones, U2, The Cure, etc remixed for kids.  Pretty cool! www.landofnod.com

Swimming Lessons

We just completed our Mommy & Me swimming lessons!  Yeah!
Jaden learned how to hop off the side of the pool on the count of three, how to dunk Mommy under water, how to play fetch with the instructor by throwing his squirty toy in the pool repeatedly and how to be dunked under water REALLY quickly without crying!   =]  I'm really proud of him.  The class had five kids on the first day but only three toughed it out.  Jaden didn't learn how to kick his feet, except when sitting on the side of the pool, but it has made him more tolerant of  bath time!  Alex, their instructor, was so sweet & patient.  I asked if she was going to be around for a while (we need a sitter!) but I was happy to hear that she's headed off to Norman, OK to attend OU!  Yeah!  Go Sooners!

Another adorable baby!

This is Aiden Winterhawk (cool middle name huh?!).  He's the son of our friends David & Stacey.  I've had this picture for a while and decided that it was too cute not to share.  Isn't he the cutest?!  Next to Jaden of course!

Happy Birthday Chloe Beth!

My friend Cara, her husband Daniel and their son Hudson welcomed their new baby, Chloe Beth, into the world on Friday.  Congrats!

Fire Station Tour

The Mothers of the Woodlands (MOTW) organized a tour of a local Fire Station on Friday.  Jaden was running around looking at everything!

Easy Rider!

My sister-in-law Jennifer's neighbor gave us this battery powered Harley for Jaden.  He hasn't quite mastered holding down the button to make it go but when he does....look out!  We bought him a helmet anticipating that he'll eventually take a corner too quickly and dump himself off of the thing.  Visions of trips to the E.R are already racing through my mind but a boys gotta have their toys!

Ahhhhh.....to be 15 months old.

A day in Jaden's life.

Wake up at 6:30 am and discuss my dreams with Llama and frog.

Mom comes in to get me around 7:00 am and tells me what a good sleeper I am!

I run around crazy so mom can't catch me to change my diaper...even though I'm pretty stinky.

7:15 am Breakfast time!  Love waffles, cereal bars, strawberries, banana, watermelon, oatmeal and my goat milk!

Play in my new playroom, run errands with mom or go to the park until lunch at 11:30 am.

Gotta check my messages!

Swinging at the park!

Higher!  Higher!

I eat pretty much anything for lunch!

Nap at 12:00 pm!  Usually down until 2:00 pm.

Up and have a snack.  Play some more.

Dinner at 6:00 pm, play a little, bath 7:00 pm and bed around 7:30 pm or 8:00 pm.

Whew!  What a day!

Mom says that once we get the house "situated" we'll get to go to the library for story time, the aquatic center, swim lessons and to some play group get togethers to meet new people!
