The Husband's 20 yr High School Reunion

The Husband's (a.k.a - M.O.T.H. /master of the house) 20 year High School Reunion was this past weekend and we had fun! I remember purchasing the tickets and immediately doing the mental countdown..."I have this many weeks to workout/get my hair color touched up/figure out what to wear"....blah blah blah. But since purchasing those tickets, we moved to a new state and all that stuff wasn't even in the back of my mind...until 1 week before the event.
GAH! I hadn't been working out! I haven't found a new colorist for my hair! And I have no idea what to wear!

When I asked M.O.T.H what he was wearing, he replied, "I don't know, I'll figure it out that day." WHAT?! But I shouldn't have been surprised, he doesn't stress about stuff like that. So I rush to the mall (which also happened to be day one of the TAX FREE WEEKEND craziness - I know, what was I thinking?!) the day before the event, looking in every store for an outfit but not really knowing what I wanted to wear, what other people are going to wear, etc. Eventually I make it back home to start figuring out what shoes to wear with the dress, how to do the hair..blah, blah, blah. SO the day of the event, M.O.T.H. is getting ready and pulls out jeans and a button down shirt and announces, "I ready!" Seriously?! So I say, to heck with it, throw on my jeans, wedge sandals and a cute top and call it good! I don't know why I was stressing out over this thing! It wasn't my reunion!

So we get there, have a drink or 2 or 3 and watch "the show". The ladies looked great, although a few seemed uncomfortable in the dresses & high heels they chose to wear. And the guys were all slapping each other on the backs and telling stories, "Remember when you..." followed by rowdy laughter and more slaps on the back. :) M.O.T.H. actually remembered a few people and it was nice to see them catch up.

My 25 year High School Reunion is next year (I know! I can't possibly be THAT old! :D ) and I'm really looking forward to it! With the help of Facebook, I've kept in touch with close friends and have become better acquainted with others. It should prove to be the most laid back reunion we've had so far....and I might just wear jeans and rubber flip flops! :D

Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Hot Hot Hot

We recently moved from TX to OK and have been shocked at how hot it is here! How could it possibly be hotter in Oklahoma than in Texas?!?!?!

I've always used the expression, "It's Africa Hot out here!" But then I started wondering if Africa is really this hot...so we googled "current weather in Africa", and this is what we found:

North Africa is ranging 80 degrees (along the northern coast) to 110 degrees a little further inland! South Africa is ranging 60 degrees (along the southern coast) to 80 degrees (inland).

So, It's North Africa hot out there people!

Moving!

As our family and most of our friends know...we're moving back to Oklahoma!

It was a hard decision to make! We've enjoyed our time in Texas, made a lot of wonderful friends...some as close as family but we're going to enjoy being close to Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and a cousin that we usually only get to see a couple of times a year.

I'll post new pics, etc. once we get settled...because you know the Adventures with Little Man knows no borders. :D

Take care our TX friends, we'll miss you and promise to keep in touch.

Pics from the last game of the season.

Base hit!

Running to third!

Little Man & "A" in the outfield discussing Transformers.

Medals & Trophies!

All smiles!

With all the complaining, "I'm hot, I don't want to play, I'm hungry" and the kids wearing black polyester jerseys in the TX heat and melting by 9am...it was all worth it when they got their trophies and medals!

We asked Little Man if he wanted to play T-Ball again next year and he said he wants to play golf. :)

Video of Little Man batting...

You'll have to excuse me yelling into the camera and moving the camera around...wanted to film Little Man but also wanted to keep an eye on the next batter so I didn't get pegged with a fly ball. Some of those kids can really hit!

First Game of the Season!

Little Man had his first T-Ball game of the season and it was great! The kids looked so cute in their uniforms, although the shirts were like dresses on all of them. :D

When the team took the field, I think there were more parents out there than players. The coaches directing the kids to chase the ball when it was hit, suggesting they keep their eye on the batter so they don't get hit in the head with the ball and throwing the ball to first. And the parents taking pictures, recording video of the game and helping catch wild throws so no one took a ball to the face. :)

Once the team was up to bat, the coaches & parents would stand at each base so the kids would know where to run. The coaches waving their arms crazily and the Mom's yelling, "run to Mommy, run to Mommy!" It was pretty entertaining. Especially when a kid from the other team got a base hit, ran to first and kept going. They had to chase him down. :D

Here's some pics from the game:

The line up. Little Man in the gray pants, 6th kid down.

Little Man getting a base hit! Run! Run!

Shaking hands with the other team, "Good Game, Good Game..."
Little Man is right in front of the coach with the blue shirt.

I'll try to post the video of Little Man hitting the ball as soon as I can.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Practice #2

Little Man's 2nd practice went well! He's hitting better and going after the ball more but we need to work on running the bases. :)

Daddy was on hand for this one...hee hee...quite the eye-opener for him. :D

Base Hit!

High five at 1st base!

In the outfield.

Daddy helping out.

Goofy's idea of "getting his glove up".

Tomorrow is the first game of the season! So exciting! I'll take some video to share.

Have a great weekend!

Play Ball!

Last night was Little Man's first T-Ball practice!

He's always enjoyed throwing balls and hitting...things. :D And after watching his cousins play flag-football, he expressed interest in playing a sport. I was more excited about him playing T-Ball than football...for obvious reasons, so we signed him up. After receiving a T-Ball stand for his Birthday, a bat, a glove and a bag of soft T-Balls, we practiced at the park. He hit the ball really well and although he's not as crazy about fielding, he gives it a good effort and has a good arm!

The team name is the San Francisco Giants! They received their team caps and jerseys and they are going to look so cute at the first game!

I wasn't sure what to expect at the first practice...they are a group of 4-5 year olds. And I think only 2 of the kids have played before. But the coach was so patient with them and covered the basics in the hour we had to practice.

Here are some pics from last nights practice:

Not really interested in stretching

Need to work on that fielding! :D

Little Man finally getting to bat!

I'll keep taking pictures and recording some of the games for the Grandparents. :)
